A view of
Karlov Most (Charles 4th bridge) from the western bank of the Vltava
river showing the Krizovnicke Abbey and the Mostecka Tower 15th century,
which formed part of the earlier Roman Judith Bridge. This oldest preserved
bridge in Europe was founded by Charles 4th in 1357. Designed by the
engineer Petr Parler in the high Gothic style, it is 515 metres long
and 10 metres wide. Construction was completed in 1402.
