DEN BLEIK (THE BLEACHING) BELGIUM 2001

(22" X 24") 55.9cm X 61cm

During the earlier century this establishment was used as a laundry. The
local Aa river nearby supplied hydro power. Linen was bleached in the sun
using extensive grasslands. The ground and buildings which dates back to the
16th and 17th centuries are still owned by the local aristocracy.
